Our 2024 Speakers

We believe that everyone has a story to tell and that ideas can come from anyone and anywhere. The theme for our 2024 is 'Curiosity'.

Kirsty Parker

Kirsty Parker is a dynamic and innovative business leader, author, and mentor with a passion for harnessing the power of curiosity to drive personal and professional growth. She is COO of a ground breaking health tech start-up and will ask “Where can curiosity take you?”

Jon Wilson-Cooper

Jon is Director of the Albany Centre and a qualified psychotherapist, trainer, and organisational consultant with over 38 years’ experience. His talk will focus on Compassion fatigue.

Jos Perris

Jos started life in Advertising and set up an Ad Agency which she ran in the West End in the 90’s.  After children, she became ordained in the Church of England and now works in Safeguarding within the Church of England.  Her talk focusses on Professional Curiosity.

Tolu Roberts

Tolu is a local sixth-form student studying 3 A-level including Psychology, and Philosophy and Ethics. She is an active member of the psychology club at her school and has a keen interest in the psychology of the workings of the human mind and behaviour. Resilience and Young People is Tolu’s focus.

Elizabeth Dalziel

Elizabeth is  a photo journalist whose work ranges from the coverage of war and breaking news to documentary photography. Her talk will focus on Picturing Menopause.

Baljinder Kloty

Baljinder is a Design Leader with over 10 years experience in the Creative industry.

She is a passionate advocate for initiatives around diversity, inclusion and equity. Championing her voice and many others from diverse backgrounds in the workplace.

She will talk to us about Identities.

The Tempest Two

The Tempest Two is made up of James and Tom. Two friends, who in 2015, decided to take on an adventure of a lifetime, and row 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean with zero previous experience. Curiosity and Adventure is the theme of their talk.

Mindy Gibbons-Klein

Mindy is a multi-passionate speaker, entrepreneur, author and coach. She is best known as founder of a successful book coaching brand called The Book Midwife®. In 2021 she sold her publishing company and began thinking seriously about her legacy and Giving will be her focus.

Laura Dannan

Laura is a singer songwriter, early years music teacher and mother of two teenage girls living in St Albans. She will give us her take on the Midlife crisis!

Rachel Oxborough

Rachel, an Art Psychotherapist, is passionate about implementing creativity and art therapy in the transformation of organisational culture, especially in the area of mental health. She will talk to us about Art and Organisational culture.

David Conrad

David is a consultant in public health working in local government, with a passion for making science and academic research accessible to everyone.  His talk will focus on Thinking bigger in Government.

Liz Pilny

Elizabeth has worked for a number of years both in a hospice and a cancer centre, She has seen first-hand how devastating a death is to a family. She is passionate about helping and supporting people to get the funeral right for them and their loved one. Talking about death will be her focus.

Georgia S

Georgia Shaw

Georgia is a passionate apprenticeship ambassador, determined to alter the way people think about higher education. She moved from  ‘Apprentice Project Manager’ to ‘Award Winning Associate Client Executive’, in less than 5 years, Her talk is focussed on the world beyond academic education.

Nathaniel Hawley

Nathaniel is a passionate neurodiversity champion and advocate for individuals with learning differences, such as autism.  He is currently Head of Community and Partnerships at a specialist recruitment company. His talk is around AI and recruitment.

The application process will be in 2 stages:

Our selection criteria throughout will be:

Preparation

How well developed is the topic?

Speaking skills

Can this speaker engage and entertain the audience?

Uniqueness

What are the ideas? What's new and different?

Motivation

How much does the person want this?

Credibility

Does this person have sufficient expertise for this topic.

TEDx Fit

Is this talk right for TEDx?

The following are NOT allowed on the TEDx stage:

  • Political agendas or inflammatory rhetoric
  • Religious agendas
  • Bad science
