TEDx St Albans Salon

New for 2024 are our Salon events. The objective of TEDx St Albans Salons is to have the ability to engage further with our local community, and to have great conversations about ideas that create change. Salons are smaller TEDx events that allow for more interaction and discussion. They are often on a single topic relevant to a particular group(s) within the community. They typically will involve some live speakers, some curated TEDx talks (from the massive back catalogue of inspiring TEDx talks worldwide) and some discussion or audience interaction.

Salon 1- June

“What did you do in the climate crisis?”

A conversation for future generations.

January 19th, 2025 timing TBC

Quaker Meeting House, 7 Upper Lattimore Rd, St Albans AL1 3UD

Join us for an afternoon of exploration, conversation and speakers. This is an opportunity to explore your personal reaction to change and the climate crisis, working together with other participants to decide on your next contribution to a better future.

The event will culminate in each person making “Emmetts Promise’ – an agreement to take action or continue existing action for future generations.

Live Speakers joining us will be:

Emma Fletcher, Low Carbon Homes Director, Octopus Energy

Judith Leary-Joyce – TEDxStAlbans speaker, Author: Beginner’s Guide to Eco Renovation, Everyday retrofit expert. Eco worrier/warrior.

And we will watch the seminal TED talk by Greta Thunberg in 2018 that sparked a whole new level of climate awareness.

Our Focus

The emphasis will be on small and large group discussion. We want this to be an event where we all learn and share together, walking away with a renewed commitment to the changes that will enable future generations to thrive.

If you care about the Earth and the Grandchildren then join us in looking for our next steps.
